Shirotori Odori
back

There are 8 dances in Shirotori Odori, dance festival. They are different dances from Gujo Odori ones. Different music and different dance style. But they also have been danced by many generations in the same way. Gensukesan, one of Chirotori Odori dances is the most popular one with young dancers because of its upbeat style.

The festival is held for a period of about 20 nights from end of July to the beginning of September. During the four days of Obon (August 13 through 15, commemorating one's ancestor), dances continue through the night until the morning.
